I'm a decision scientist (Cognitive and Brain Sciences Ph.D., Louisiana State University, 2023) researching how death awareness shifts intertemporal choices in finance, health, and other areas. I do complementary research on risk perception about existential/planetary risks. Separately, I research AI ethics and attention measurement.

My main teaching interest is statistics, and I am the author of Psychological Statistics Simplified (preliminary edition).

Personal

I am from South Florida and have lived in seven cities across five states since starting college. I'm also a songwriter and musician with a history of playing in local bands, and have some other specific hobbies:

• Music: Spotify Wrapped told me that last year, I listened to 63,000 minutes of music. Some favorite artists in those minutes: The Smiths, The Cure, Her's, Cocteau Twins, Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, Black Marble, The Cranberries, Beach Fossils, The Sundays, American Football (saw them in 2024), etc. 

• Films: Current favorites are Arrival, Coraline, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Godzilla Minus One.

• Games: Currently playing Magic: The Gathering Arena.

• Books: Currently reading "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini and "How Not to Die" by Michael Greger.

• Nature: I love the beach but dislike hiking.
